2 months agoExcellent and extensive selection of books from all time periods. If you're looking for something obscure, this is a great place to check. You can definitely enjoy browsing as a passtime here, but the staff are super nice and helpful when navigating their extensive selection if you need something specific. Very nice of them to have much needed book binding services, as well.

3 months agoTheir book binding department is absolutely amazing! I bought this old book from an antique shop. It cost me pennies as it was falling apart when I bought it. The spine was completely gone, some of the pages were falling out, and the entire book was being held together by packing tape. I'd already had it for a few years when I decided to make the drive to Cincinnati, which is two hours away for me, to this book store and have it rebound. All I have to say is W-O-W. I am beyond impressed! The book binding department put a new spine on the book while keeping the original front and back covers. New corners were put on the covers and the book was re-sown. I've never been able to look through this treasure as I was always scared of damaging it further! I'm looking forward to finally being able to read through it. I can't praise them enough!

4 months agoExcellent. Very friendly and helpful folks running the place, an extensive collection, and a lot of history all within an interesting layout for a bookstore. It is my favorite bookstore in the tristate by far and I stop by whenever I can. They have a lot of things you will have a hard time finding at other stores or even online, like antique/vintage copies of magazines. Prices on things are fair and reasonable. I highly recommend a visit. It's within walking distance of a lot of other convenient things in town. I'd say its best to go with an hour at least to spare before closing because there is a lot to look at. The only thing to be aware of is that there are a lot of stairs to get to other floors, and as this is an older building I don't believe there is an elevator or any other way to get up or down (though I could be wrong). This wasn't a problem for me, but if this is a mobility concern for you, just be aware of this in advance.

Spanning multiple floors, this Cincinnati landmark offers a truly incredible selection, from rare editions to contemporary gems. I loved getting lost among the towering shelves—the atmosphere is rich with the smell of old paper and history. The staff is knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about books. Plus, their bookbinding and restoration services are a unique, fantastic touch. If you love books, you must visit this cultural icon!

10 months agoTheir whole gimmick is that there is no organization. Stuff is sorta sorted into categories but overall just a nice older building and a lot of books and history. Anything interesting tho is borderline close to any other used book store
