a month agoNot as busy as I thought it would be for a Saturday. The food was good and we were able to feed a family of 5 comfortably for under $100 with a good tip. Service was fast too! Restroom was reasonably clean but both toilets were some level of broken and difficult to use. One of the doors didn't have a latch. The corn dogs for our toddler looked over cooked. I would give 4.5 stars if I could, but I can't give it a full 5 stars because of the bathroom and the corn dogs.

a month agoI travel weekly for work (nationally) so am always trying new restaurants. I was hopeful for some good Mexican food based on the 4.8 star reviews. However, I was disappointed overall. The food was just ok (the chimichangas were great, but the salsa had no spice, the margaritas were light, and the frijoles charros were flavorful but made with hot dogs. The service was lacking, except for the lady at the front desk. She was attentive, but the bartender seemed more interested in chatting with the apparently regular frat boys at the bar than serving customers. If you are a family, the music they started playing was full of expletives/foul language (not censored), and did not make for an inviting environment. I get that this is a college area, but it seems you shouldn't cater your vibe to the frat boy golf team at the bar. The whole experience was mediocre, and I will not be back nor recommend the restaurant. I guess I should have chosen to sit outside rather than at the bar.

2 months agoWhat a fantastic experience I had here. Everything about the meal was delicious and fresh. I particularly enjoyed the elote, which was perfectly prepared and served on the tray. The presentation was great and the flavors were spot on. It is such a welcoming spot with a cozy booth setup that makes you want to stay for dessert. I will definitely be back again soon.

3 months agoDon’t miss out! Come to El Vaquero! Beautiful location, great service and even better food! It’s simple! I repeat, it’s simple! Get the street corn, Chili Relleno, Birria Tacos (absolutely worth it!) and if you saved room for dessert, the fried Ice cream. Come alone or bring friends! Don’t miss out! “Where should be get Mexican food in Cincinnati?” El Vaquero.

6 months agoOne of my favorite Mexican chains. Love the food, service is good and the prices are reasonable. Good spot for margaritas and dinner before going to bogarts or other venues around UC.
